For the second year, Resilient Fitness (RF) is proud to send several of our athletes to the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) Ultra Nationals! This is a nation-wide competition that all competing athletes have had to qualify for. Our four athletes have each competed in local and regional meets and earned weight totals that qualified them to compete at Nationals. For months, our athletes have been committed to training and next week all that training pays off! Let us introduce (or re-introduce!) you to the four lifters who will be repping RF in Anaheim, CA.
Annette Acuna
Age group: Submaster (35-39) and Open (all ages)
Weight class: 48kg
Top competition totals: Squat-194lbs; Bench-121.25lbs; Deadlift- 253.35lbs

Annette is competing at Ultra Nationals for the second year in a row, after having placed third in her weight class last year! She holds the Arizona state records for the squat, bench press, and deadlifts in her age/weight class. This year, her goal for Ultra Nationals is to hit an elite total, make the podium, but ultimately have fun with her teammates and coaches. Annette says: “We’ve worked really hard during this prep, so I’m really looking forward to giving it my best on the platform.”
What food are you looking forward to eating the most? Chocolate chip pancakes and a Disneyland churro!
What’s your favorite training move? Least favorite? Favorite move was working on squat depth; least favorite move was pin squats (we have a love/hate relationship because they’re so good for technique and helped fix my squat depth.
Any message for the RF community? The love and support we receive from everyone is amazing! We hope you can follow along on our competition day and watch us have fun!
Marcy Gonzales

Marcy joins our Nationals Team for the first time this year after taking first place in her age/weight class at a regional meet in October 2025. Marcy has been working hard every day and we know she’ll do amazing things on the platform! Marcy says: “I want to leave Nationals knowing I did my best. I want to leave it all on the platform, get a masters total, and come back with a medal!”
What food are you looking forward to eating the most? All the pasta and a big burger with bacon!
What’s your favorite training move? Least favorite? Favorite is deadlift, least favorite is squats. We don’t like each other.
Any message for the RF community? Thank you all for the love and support. I definitely have days where I don’t want to show up but you all keep me motivated. I love how supportive and fun the RF community is!
