RF Member Feature Questions
If there was one thing you could say to your Coach, what would it be?
Thank you for believing in me and encouraging me to push myself.
What was the moment that made you decide to join Resilient Fitness?
I was at another gym that Jesus started managing. I knew his outlook on life and training motivated me…so I followed him.
What is your fitness/nutrition experience prior to RF?
I was at another gym for a few years before Jesus came to manage that gym. I learned kettlebells and Original Strength at that gym. It was a great group of people… a number of which I see now at Resilient. My Fitness Pal is great for tracking nutrition…have used it for years….it’s a love-hate thing.
What were your fitness habits like before joining RF? Were you already active? Were you new to fitness?
I was going to the gym 3+ times a week plus kayaking or hiking on a regular basis…just as I do now. I started working out when I retired. Prior to that, the extent of my exercising was rollerblading back in the 90s AND a few Jazzersize classes back in the 70s when that was a thing!
Why do you think RF worked so well for you compared to other programs and instruction?
The coaches tailor the workouts to where I am in my life. I can jump back in, after an extended leave, knowing I can get back to where I was and continue on. It is a community and the coaches and members care about each other and support each other. It’s a very encouraging environment no matter what level of fitness you are at or want to attain.
The coaches are constantly giving feedback and helping me so I can be my best.
What was the biggest challenge or change when you first started with RF?
What were 3 major non-scale victories you experienced with RF? Knowing that no matter what happens physically, I can get my life back and be the best “me” I can be because Resilient workouts give me a very solid base to work from.
How has your life improved thanks to your time with RF?
I've had a few major health issues and have been able to recover significantly faster than the times given by the doctors. My recovery was like that of someone 20+ years younger because of the workouts. I continue to live a very active life because I have a better base to start from than people who don’t workout at our gym and who don’t get a well rounded exercise program. Resilient has offered me a healthy lifestyle and a community that is supportive. I don’t ever want to fit in the “for your age” category at the doctor….Resilient helps me accomplish that,
What are 3 tips, based on your experience, that you’d give to new members of RF to help them see success early on?
1.Show up consistently…life is crazy busy and you can find a million excuses not to. It’s one hour. It’s cumulative…so someday you can retire and be healthy and active.
2. Don’t beat yourself up. It’s a process. Think long-term.
3. Every workout you are making a healthier, more resilient body for your life today and for your future. Know your goals and head in that direction.
If someone is thinking about joining RF, what advice would you give them before beginning their journey?
Just start! You cannot understand the benefits both physically and mentally until you experience them.
